It's been widely reported, again, that Trader Joe's will stop selling food imported from China. This story has actually been around for quite a while. There must have been a major media outlet that finally ran the story. The Los Angeles Times story is here.
Based on comments on this article, I asked about the issue at a couple of Trader Joe's in my in my area. (West Los Angeles, CA) It seems this was a pretty hot topic for Trader Joe's shoppers. There were actual business repercussions to selling China-sourced food products once the perceptions of their food quality were cast.
The good news is there are plenty of places in the world to source the same goods, to retail for about the same price.
